The CD cover

Danny managed to get a copy of the CD cover where Troy King superimposed himself with Johnny Cash (my jealousy is raging — for Danny not Troy). He sent the CD to about 25 friends and supporters for Christmas.

Not sure why this story is so captivating for me.

I assume that King must have released this to the media? He has good political instincts. People I’ve talked to think this is a good story.

The use of Johnny Cashs’ image and music seems to me to beyond “fair use”. Someone should notify the record company and the RIAA.

I agree that the story is captivating, fascinating, even as it’s not that important in the big scheme.

I think it is fair to say that King did not release this to the media. Otherwise, a copy would not have been so $#%! hard to track down.

Art, the project was meant for a small circle of friends/supporters and was not commercial. I don’t know all the ins and outs of what constitutes Fair Use, but this project did not commercially benefit anyone, was not publicly distributed, and did not cut into anyone’s legitimate revenue. I suppose if someone could dispute the last point, they may have a case that it violates Fair Use, but it seems unlikely.
