There are like… a thousand things wrong with this
Look, I voted for Ron Paul. I really like the guy, and I even supported him before he ran for President.
But this is just wack:
The goal of Paulville.org it to establish gated communities containing 100% Ron Paul supporters and or people that live by the ideals of freedom and liberty.
Thing wrong with Paulville.org number 1: Establishing something similar to a commune is not the best way to “live the Ron Paul life.”

I don’t know…I kinda see it as a form of secession and not so much as a commune….and truthfully I’ve thought I would like to live somewhere like that on more than one occasion. If New Hampshire weren’t so damn miserable cold I might consider joining the Free State Project.

Does sound like “for maximum liberty, the community decide what liberty means”.
Wonder if they will take Ron Paul dollars or will be fiat money only?

They may be on the gold standard and I suspect there will be a great deal of bartering going on. I love the barter system.
The mountain range on their website looks very familiar. I wonder if it is near El Paso TX/White Sands NM? I lived in that area when my husband was in the army and we were stationed at Ft. Bliss.

I don’t see any evidence on the website that Paul is connected to this in any way. It looks as if someone may just be trying to capitalize on his popularity, but without much success thus far.

I wonder about the libertarian neighborhood philosophy in actual practice. Will there be noise ordinances? Will residents be permitted to keep aromatic livestock, like a horse or a couple of pot-bellied pigs? I would want a tract a lot bigger than an acre, that’s for sure.

Yes, this sounds wacky, but it’s actually just a straightforward and self-aware proclamation of the kind of self-segregating most Americans are engaging in: moving to cities and then neighborhoods of like-minded people. Check out the history of this phenom. and the proof of it in Bill Bishop’s new book The Big Sort. Here’s a review from the Wall St. Journal.

I never meant to imply that Mr. Paul was involved in it.

Dan, I didn’t mean to imply that you thought Dr. Paul has anything to do with this organization. Some readers might think so just from the name of the group, though, and I wanted to dispel that assumption if anyone made it.

This is my favorite line from the site:
These communities are not for the faint at heard…
